How to identify a fire panel and its protocol
Selection starts with the installed equipment. A shared brand does not establish that two devices can work on the same loop.
Information to gather
A legible photo of the panel label, full part numbers for the detector and its base, recorded version and available documentation. Share only images authorised by the property manager, without credentials or sensitive plans.
Distinguish families and variants
MGC, AP and CLIP identify communication technologies that must be checked in the model documentation. Keep suffixes such as ISO, R, IV or EN: depending on the family they can distinguish isolation, enclosure, colour or language. They are not automatic equivalents.
Validation before intervention
BBS reviews the panel, loop, firmware, base, power and compatibility documentation. Field identification and any intervention require competent personnel, operational coordination and technical approval.
