What to check before migrating EBI.
Start by understanding what must keep working.
Inventory and dependencies
Record the EBI version, operating system, database, licences, stations, interfaces and connected equipment. Identify the administrator of each component.
Recoverable backups
Identify available copies, their dates and the restoration procedure. A backup file alone does not prove that recovery will succeed.
Compatibility and scope
Request the matrix applicable to the exact versions. Separate monitoring, command, events and history, and define what will be tested.
Work window and rollback
Agree the window, responsibilities, contingency and return conditions with operations. Record the results and open items at closeout.
